Welcome

Welcome to Bloomfield

The City of Bloomfield was incorporated in 1819 by Dr. John Bemiss. Bloomfield was a popular gathering place for the soldiers during The Civil War, as many fascinating stories have been published describing these stopovers. Some amusing, and some sad. Bloomfield is an agricultural city where the prime industry was tobacco until The Tobacco Buyout in 2004, which led to the closing of the Tobacco Warehouses.

Bloomfield currently has a little over 1100 residents. The City currently has a volunteer fire department, doctor and dental office, EMS station, funeral home, pharmacy, along with other businesses to help serve our Community. Shopping and banks , food and ice cream keep people coming here to our town to enjoy the sights. The City also proudly marked its 200th anniversary in 2019. Come enjoy a day with us and you will see why this is such a great community!
